About Charlottesville

Also known as C'ville, Charlottesville was home to two U.S. presidents, Thomas Jefferson and James Monroe. About an hour away (26 miles or 42 km) is the hometown of James Madison, Orange Virginia.

Thomas Jefferson's home, Monticello, can be seen from the campus of the University of Virginia, both of which are considered World Heritage sites by UNESCO.

With its fair number of wineries, hiking trails, restaurants, and historic attractions, there are things for everyone to enjoy. For ideas on outings, visit: https://www.visitcharlottesville.org
